Challenge

As part their most recent remodel, key requirements including local city and county code for electric outdoor grills are the top priorities for this project. In addition, many residents on campus face daily physical challenges, such as mobility limitation. To maintain and meet the specific needs of our veterans, Walton Construction needed to source an outdoor BBQ grill to meet these requirements.

Solution

Walton Construction turned to PGS Grills for their reputation and success in the multi-family industry. The newly released E27T Electric Grill provided the necessary requirements to meet strict local and county code for this project such as LEED certification, one-hour safety shut off timer and energy efficiency. Additionally, PGS Grills offers an exclusive Lift Assist Handle that is designed to fit any PGS Legacy model. Made for easy accessibility and may be of benefit for people with a disability. In total, the Los Angeles Veterans Campus installed three E27T Electric Grills with Lift Assist Handles.

Results

Since the installation of the three PGS E27T Electric Grill, the feedback has been positive from the veterans. The newly installed grill with List Assist Handle allowed all veterans to comfortably use the grills improving the overall user experience. It has allowed the veterans to enjoy a better outdoor cooking experience despite their physical limitations. This instills confidence, independence and community engagement, creating meaningful opportunities for veterans.

“Based on the grill’s usability, quality, and AEI Corporation’s strong support, we are already planning to incorporate PGS Electric Grills into future projects.”
 - Kaden Walker, Project Engineer
